Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Inc., (NASDAQ: GMCR) announced 3Q08 results for the period ending June 28, 2008 that beat analyst expectations.
The coffee company reported 3Q earnings of $6.3 million, or $0.25 cents a share, compared with $3.7 million, or $0.15 cents a share, a year ago.
Net sales rose 43% to $118.1 million. Analysts were expecting earnings of $0.21 cents a share, on revenue of $119.1 million, according to Reuters.

The company’s operating income was $11.3 million in 3Q08, as compared to $7.4 million reported in 3Q07, and improved as a percentage of net sales to 9.6% from 8.9%.
Green Mountain expects 2008 earnings of $0.90 to $0.92 cents per share and net sales growth of 44 to 46%.
