Fat Spaniel Technologies, a market leader in monitoring and reporting services for distributed energy systems, announced the release of what it says is the world’s first open platform for building, sharing and running energy data applications.
Fat Spaniel’s Insight Platform(TM) provides an open information architecture that enables application developers, system integrators, equipment manufacturers and others in the renewable energy industry to extend their existing monitoring resources and develop new service capabilities.

Fat Spaniel’s Insight Platform supports more than 125 renewable energy devices to deliver critical real-time and historical information about photovoltaic, solar water heating, and wind energy system performance.
Fat Spaniel said an open platform for renewable energy data collection, exchange and visualization, Insight Platform’s open architecture will enable applications such as Monitored Device Integration, Weather Data Integration, Platform Back-end Support, Customer Support, Widgets and Billing.
