enXco–an EDF Energies Nouvelles (EDFEF.PK) company–announced its second agreement in recent months with GE Energy (NYSE: GE) to purchase turbines for new wind projects. Under the agreement, enXco will purchase 200 turbines representing 300 megawatts (MW) of electricity-producing capacity from GE Wind.
The 1.5-MW turbines are scheduled for delivery in 2010. In December, enXco announced a similar agreement to purchase 300 MW from GE for delivery in 2009.
"This additional commitment to GE turbines is the continuation of our long-term relationship and demonstrates our confidence in the leading US turbine manufacturer. It comes at a very favorable time for enXco as several of our 2008 and 2009 projects have successfully met critical milestones. Our project pipeline is substantial and requires additional turbines to meet our needs." stated Tristan Grimbert, President and COO for enXco.
