Is Air Travel Ethical?

In Europe and elsewhere, concern over climate change is leading to a backlash against the airline industry and flying in general. Campaigns are urging people to take trains and reduce business and personal flights.

In the U.S., where the airline industry is already struggling and train travel is much less viable, the debate is also heating up. The central question seems to be: Is it ethical to fly?
