Portugal, one of the European Union’s least conspicuous countries received more than 40% of its electricity from renewable sources last year.
The sunny country of 10.6 million people will soon be home to the world’s largest photovoltaic solar power plant.
It has ten new hydro-power dams planned, as well as wave energy projects for the country’s Atlantic shoreline.
In addition, the country, whose economy has been weaker than its European neighbors anticipates 10,000 new clean energy jobs and investments of $12.1 billion in its clean energy sector.
