Private equity firm Yellowstone Capital Partners, LLC, based in Houston, announced the formation of a second alternative and renewable energy fund, called Yellowstone Energy Ventures II LP.
Yellowstone says it has substantially completed investment in the first fund, which was launched in mid-2004.
According to Yellowstone, both funds focus primarily on early-stage investments in the energy technology segment of the cleantech industry.
Yellowstone says the funds make a variety of investments in solar, energy storage, wind, clean coal, nuclear and alternative fuel technologies.
The company has set a target of $50 million of commitments for the second fund–YEV II–with Yellowstone Capital as the lead investor. It says it anticipates an initial close of outside investors early this year.
