SunEdison has acquired Island Energy Solutions, Inc. Island Energy, both an electrical contracting and energy company, has been a pioneer for renewable energy systems in the Hawaiian Islands, recognized for the quality of their installations. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
According to Jigar Shah, CEO of SunEdison, “Island Energy has been a model for progressive pricing structures of energy and deployment of renewable energy solutions in Hawaii for over eight years. Hawaii is an important market for SunEdison, as the state most likely to reach grid parity first. The company’s broad expertise in Hawaii gives SunEdison experienced resources to solve the energy needs of customers in Hawaii. We are honored that they have chosen to become part of the SunEdison team.”
Added Keith Cronin, President and CEO of Island Energy, “We are excited that Island Energy can be part of a global organization with the credentials of SunEdison, the true leader in solar energy services. Together, we look forward to deploying solar PV systems throughout the state of Hawaii. In addition, we look forward to contributing ideas successfully used here in Hawaii to SunEdison that can be rolled out on a global scale.”
Mr. Cronin will continue as President of SunEdison’s Hawaiian operations, SunEdison Hawaii.
