GE (NYSE: GE) and Masco Contractor Services (MCS) announced a new program to help homebuilders and residential developers create homes that lead the market in whole-home energy efficiency, water conservation, and the use of renewable power. The program integrates high-performance products and advanced principles of building science into a simple upgrade package for builders that benefits return-on-investment for homebuyers.
The collaboration includes an array of GE ecomagination products, including Energy Star Appliances, compact fluorescent lighting, and GE Brilliance solar power systems.
The collaboration also expands the benefits available under the Environments For Living® program. The Environments For Living program, developed by MCS, consolidates advanced techniques of applied Building Science and provides tiered levels of certification for energy efficiency for heating and cooling the home that include energy usage and comfort guarantees.
