Ormat Subsidiary to Supply Geothermal Plant Extension

An Ormat Technologies, Inc. subsidiary has entered into a US$7.725 million agreement with Tuaropaki Power Company (TPC) of New Zealand, for the supply of one additional air-cooled ORMAT Energy Converter (OEC) unit for the extension of the existing Mokai Geothermal power plant located near Lake Taupo in New Zealand.

The equipment is to be supplied within 12 months from the contract date. This is the third development stage of the Mokai geothermal facility following the two stages that have already been accomplished by the ORMAT group of companies under previous agreements with TPC.

The Mokai geothermal power plant has been developed in stages since 1995. This third stage is being implemented following 7 years of successful operation, and will bring the total capacity of the power plant to 120 MW.
