SatCon Technology Corporation (Nasdaq NM: SATC), a developer and manufacturer of power electronics and motors for the alternative energy markets, announced that its Applied Technology Division with facilities in Boston, Massachusetts, and Linthicum, Maryland, has been certified as compliant to the internationally recognized ISO 9001:2000 standard.
This standard defines the requirements for a Quality Management System designed to ensure that a company’s products consistently meet customer requirements, and that a company’s processes are continuously improved in the interest of customer satisfaction. SatCon Applied Technology’s Quality Management System incorporates all of the procedures affecting delivery of finished product to its customers – including preparation of proposals, contracts, material ordering and handling, engineering design, documentation, test and shipping. Certification auditing services were provided by International Quality Registrars (IQR) Corporation of Mt. Airy, Maryland. A portion of the training expenses to implement the Quality Management System was provided by a grant from the Massachusetts Workforce Training Fund. The Workforce Training Fund is a state fund financed entirely by Massachusetts employers to provide resources to Massachusetts businesses and workers to train current and newly hired employees.
