New York City Orders 500 Hybrid Buses

In the largest requisition to date for hybrid buses, New York City has ordered 500 hybrid-electric buses from DaimlerChrysler’s commercial bus unit.

New York City Transit ordered 216 Orion VII hybrid-electric buses and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority ordered 284 hybrid buses. In a previous order, NYC purchased 325 hybrid buses.
