Greenshift Corp. (GSHF.OB) has formed a start-up company, Tornado Trash Corp., to convert technologies to divert waste from landfills. Greenshift plans to take Tornado public in the fourth quarter.
The company’s processes will convert trash into commodities such as metals, chemicals, plastics, fuel and energy.
Tornado Trash to acquire its first site this year, co-located at a small municipal solid waste landfill in the eastern United States.
“While the technology has demonstrated an environmentally friendly and cost-effective method to eliminate the need for additional landfill sites, our ultimate objective is to scale the technology for residential and commercial applications,” said Kevin Kreisler, chairman and CEO of Greenshift. “We essentially eliminate the need for water, sewage and trash removal infrastructures.”
