Over the next 10 days, rock fans can bid on rare guitars, microphones, drumheads & albums to benefit the Save the Earth Foundation.
The Earth Day auction is being held on Overstock.com and will feature a who’s who of famous rock stars memorabilia – including the guitars and albums that made them legends.
The auction begins Saturday, April 16th. All of the proceeds will benefit Save the Earth Foundation’s scientific research and educational programs dedicated to expanding environmental awareness.
The online auction will primarily feature rare, autographed electric and acoustic guitars, microphones, drumheads and albums from legendary rock bands and solo artists, such as: AC/DC, Aerosmith, The Beatles, Eric Clapton, The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Kiss, Metallica, Motley Crue, Ozzy Osbourne, Pearl Jam, The Police, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, U2, Van Halen and Neil Young.
The rock memorabilia expected to garner the most attention are a rare, Rolling Stones’ hollow body guitar and the Beatles’ “Magical Mystery Tour” album, each autographed by all respective band members, as well as autographed microphones by the hottest artists topping the Billboard charts: 50 Cent, Christina Aquilera, Beyonce, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Ice Cube, Jay-Z, Jennifer Lopez, Nelly and Snoop Dog.
Scheduled to close at 3:00 p.m. PDT on Monday, April 25th, the online auction will also feature prized sports memorabilia from top athletes like Muhammad Ali’s hand imprint and Joe Frazier’s boxing glove, and framed movie posters signed by the actors who starred in them.
The Save the Earth Foundation helps solve major environmental problems by providing grants to colleges and universities to fund environmental research and educational programs that train students to solve environmental problems. http://www.savetheearth.org
