RALEIGH, N.C. (July 21) — Waste Industries USA Inc. reported approximately 13 percent growth in both revenue and net income for the second quarter of 2003. The company posted net income of $3.1 million, or 22 cents per diluted share, on revenue of $74.4 million for the quarter ended June 30. Those figures compare with net income of $2.7 million, or 20 cents per diluted share, on revenue of $65.8 million for the second quarter of 2003.
“We are pleased with our strong revenue growth for the quarter and our performance highlights initiatives taken over the past year to streamline our operations while pursuing a very selective growth strategy,” said Jim W. Perry, president and CEO.
