Published on: June 28, 2004

Trex Company (NYSE: TWP) has been named to FORTUNE Small Business magazine's annual list of the 100 Fastest Growing Small Companies in America, ranking #91 on the list of public companies.

To compile the list, Zacks, a financial research firm, screens public company annual reports with annual revenues of less than $200 million and a stock price of more than $1. Within that group, companies are ranked based on earnings growth, revenue growth, and stock performance over the past three years.

Trex Company is the nation's largest manufacturer of alternative decking, which is marketed under the brand name Trex. Trex Wood-Polymer lumber offers an attractive appearance and the workability of wood without the ongoing need for protective sealants or repairs. Trex decking and railing is manufactured in a proprietary process that combines waste wood fibers and reclaimed polyethylene and is used primarily for residential and commercial decking. The Company sells its products through approximately 90 wholesale distribution locations, which in turn sell Trex decking to approximately 3,300 independent contractor-oriented retail lumberyards across the United States and Canada. In 2004, the Company's products will be available in a limited number of Home Depot stores.
