What a pity the USA does not have standardized federal regulations regarding approved installers, automatic planning and connection consent for arrays below a certain size, and self certification with only spot inspections of approved installers – getting rid of maybe 90% of the administrative burden would bring costs down to around $2.25 per watt for a 4 kW system without federal or state subsidies, and in so doing, bring costs into line with the UK and Germany
