Position Overview

RTC, a national nonprofit building healthy places for healthy people by advancing trails, bicycling and walking seeks a Community Outreach Coordinator. This position is a full-time one to two-year assignment, located in Baltimore, MD. The position includes benefits.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Coordinate community outreach efforts to advance the goals of the Baltimore Greenway Trails Network (BGT);  
  • Activities include event planning; publicly promoting the BGT Network;
  • Cultivating strong relationships with local partners in the public, private and non-profit sectors;
  • Supporting trail use and trail development elements of the project; and
  • Working to ensure support for the BGT represents the diversity of neighboring communities by expanding our outreach beyond the traditional set of trail users.

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate would have 2 years or more of relevant experience in community engagement;
  • Working with underserved communities; and
  • Developing and implementing broad based outreach strategies.

Skills Desired Include:

  • Creative problem-solving and idea generation;
  • Strong public speaking skills;
  • Familiarity or interest in trails, and
  • The ability to walk or bike moderate to long distances.
  • Strong candidates will be rooted in Baltimore and/or have a great depth of local knowledge about Baltimore.
