Ingeteam To Make Wind, Solar Components in Milwaukee

Spanish company Ingeteam, Inc., said it will invest more than EUR 10 million to establish a production center for wind and solar power components in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Ingeteam specializes in the production of wind power generators and converters, as well as solar photovoltaic converters (inverters).

The company expects to increase its market share in the wind power industry, which it said is currently between 12% and 15%. The new facility will have capacity to produce components equivalent to 7,500 megawatts (MW) per year.

The facility is scheduled to begin operations in early 2011, and once
the project reaches maturity, it is estimated that the plant will
employ 275 people by 2015.

Ingeteam is already present in Mequon, Wisconsin, where it carries out wind
turbine operation and maintenance activities. Ingeteam said it manages more than 2,200 MW distributed over 60 wind
farms all over the world.

The company also has a business office in Santa Clara, California, specializing in the sale of solar photovoltaic inverters.

The new facility will also manufacture motors, generators and converters for the other markets in which the company is active: railway traction, marine, combined heat and power, the iron and steel industry and hydraulic machines.

Ingeteam is made up of 28 companies spanning four continents (Asia, Europe, North America and South America), employing more than 3,500 people.
