Organic Agriculture Company
The Company has an internationally certified organic agriculture project which is spread over a total area of 762,600 m2 with arable land of 1,.5 mn acres in Aydin, the western part of Turkey. The land, purchased in 2002, has been prepared for organic farming since.
The area hosts 25,000 trees: 7,000 manzilla type olive, 10,247 Gemlik type olive, 445 Domat type olive, 1,250 Ayval?k type olive, 532 Memecik type olive, 1400 fig, 325 apple, 80 nektarin, 3,350 Hevaz type Pomengranatez, 40 apricot, 40 cherris, 160 plum trees to be precise.
The organic agriculture project is under the supervision of ECOCERT, a German based international certificate institution, and all products have been certificated as "International Ecological Product".
So far, following mentioned operations have been accomplished within the scope of the project; roads, irrigation system, watering cistern, electricity system, transformer station, oil mill, storage house and engine park.
Including value of land, accomplished investments and trees, the company's fixed asset value is estimated at € 10 mn currently. The company aims to post € 1.2 mn sales revenues in 2008 while its sales are projected to reach around € 10 mn within a couple of years with an estimated 70% gross margin.
