Amonix, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of concentrated photovoltaic (CPV) solar power systems, today announced that it has selected Flextronics (NASDAQ: FLEX) as a manufacturing partner for its systems.
The announcement continues to trends: the emergence of CPV as a viable alternative to traditional PV and thin-film solar panels for utility-scale deployments; and the emergence of Flextronics as a major solar manufacturer. Earlier this MEMC (NYSE: WFR) announced a similar agreement with Flextronics, which already has contracts with SunPower (Nasdaq: SPWRA) (in California) and Q-Cells (QCE.DE) (in Malyasia), as well as upstart Petra Solar.
Flextronics’ manufacturing capabilities right here in California will enable us to reduce time-to-market and rapidly scale our business to meet the needs of customers in our target markets of California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and other Southwestern U.S. states with sunny and dry climates,” Brian Robertson, CEO of Amonix, said.
Flextronics is an Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) provider headquartered in Singapore.
Amonix is headquartered with a manufacturing facility in Seal Beach, California.
